New Years Eve
Happy New Year 2016! New Years Eve was a great experience for me. I spent the evening with a great group of friends drinking, watching fireworks, making new friends and more drinking. I hope whatever you got up to you had a great time too. Check out some of the firework display below:
New Years Day
Today has been very much a gently gently kind of day nursing the self inflicted hangover. Homemade chicken ramen, vitamin C tablets and plenty of water have been the order for the day. I spent a good amount of time catching up with family and my girlfriend all of whom I missed last night. They are all amazing and provide such a huge amount of support. I would not have the confidence to do everything I do without them and I am forever grateful for having them in my life.
I have also spent today making improvements to this blog and planning for the forthcoming months. I have a project I am working on which I am wanting to finish in the next 1-2 months, watch this space for future announcements.
Food for thought
As this is a reflective time of year for a lot of people I thought this motivational video posted by Tyrese Gibson was quite apt and appropriate for the start of the year. I personally don’t believe in God, an afterlife or any purpose to life other than to be here and live. I have a very simple view on life as you’re born, you live, you die, you’re gone that’s it.
I have had a number of instances in my life where the true value of living each day to the max reminds me to live and not just exist. This year is going to be a weird year as I reach the age my father never got past. For those that have never lost a parent or person close to them where they surpass that persons years alive, this may seem like nothing much, but for me with it being such a big person in my life it is going to be strange. I vow to keep living my life, taking risks and getting the most out of every experience I can. I hope you like this video.
